Attachments & File Outputs
Attach files to a message, see what each file type is used for, and download what an agent creates.
Attaching Files to a Message
Click Add next to the message box and choose Upload file, or simply drag a file onto the chat (you'll see a "Drop files to upload" overlay). Attached files appear as chips above the message box; remove one with its x. The Send button waits while an attachment is still uploading.
What Happens to Different Attachment Types
What an agent does with an attachment depends on its type:
| Attachment type | What happens |
|---|---|
| Documents (PDFs, Office files, code) | The agent reads the file's contents on demand when it needs them |
| Images | The agent visually inspects the image |
| Audio clips | The clip is transcribed to text before the agent ever sees it |
| Plain text files | The agent only sees the file name, not its contents |
This is why, for example, an attached voice memo shows up to the agent as readable text rather than as audio.
File and Document Outputs
When an agent creates a file for you — a PDF, a spreadsheet, an image — it shows up in the chat as a document card. Click Download (or click the card, which reads "Click to download") to save it. Images preview inline and can be opened full-size; the caption row also has a Download button.
