Overview

Give an agent the ability to reach out to a web service you point it at.

What Custom Tools Do

A tool  lets an agent do something beyond chatting, by reaching out to a web service you point it at. You create a tool once, then turn it on for whichever agents should be able to use it. There are two kinds:

  • Function (Webhook)— calls an API endpoint or webhook that you provide. See Function Tools.
  • MCP Server— connects to a Model Context Protocol server that exposes a set of tools. See MCP Tools.

Where to Find It

Open Tools  from the sidebar, under More. Your tools are listed on the left, with a +  button to create a new one. Select a tool to see its details, test it, edit it, or delete it.
