Function Tools
Point an agent at an API endpoint or webhook you provide.
A Function (Webhook) tool calls an API endpoint or webhook you provide. Click + on the Tools screen to open theCreate Tool form, then work through these steps.
1
Name and describe it
Give the tool a name and description so you can recognize it later.
2
Keep the type as Function (Webhook)
This is the default tool type.
3
Set the request
Choose an HTTP Method (GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, or DELETE) and the Webhook URL. You can drop
{{variable}} placeholders into the URL.4
Choose authentication
Pick an Authentication type and enter the matching details (see the table below). Use No Auth if the endpoint needs none.
5
Define a request body
For POST, PUT, or PATCH, choose a Body Format (JSON, XML, Form Data, or Raw Text) and add fields — each with a name, type (String, Number, Boolean, or Date), whether it's required, a sample value, and an optional auto-fill value.
6
Create the tool
Click Create Tool.
